It's not hard at all to catch a shark from the surf. Those look like baby blacktips. Good eating.

Nothing to be afraid of unless you are a shrimp or another small baitfish. The beaches are loaded with sharks now, and even with high numbers of them you only hear of one or two attacks each year. Nothing to be afraid of.

Spend sometime with some truly dangerous critters and it is understandable just how laughable shark paranoia is.

Having fished creeks 20 feet wide where the stench of Grizzlies is overpowering is pretty nerve racking. Even with a 12 ga. slung over your back. After having fished around that it makes sharks look like a joke, which they are. Except great whites but then again we are talking about black tips which aren't exactly known to be maneaters.
Like I said once you have had a grizzly sow step out of the willows 10 feet away from you with cubs anything else in North America just seems weak.

Pretty cool. My friends just came back from Grayton Beach this weekend and said they saw a 3' bull shark but didn't have their camera to get a pic. We're going on Sunday and I think it would be cool to see one but don't want to be caught by surprise.

we were surf fishing in myrtle beach when 2 six foot bull sharks tried to go between me and the beach. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!! you can look at our pics that day and tell pre-shark from post-shark pics. we were over waist deep pre-shark. my shoes would be dry after the sharks.

I've never really been scared of the ocean for some reason.. never given it much thought. Was floating out one time... much further from the shore than we should have been.. a school of fishing started flopping all around us and one jumped out of the water and hit my friend in the head. It was funny as heck. Finally somebody came and made us come back in.

Our last trip down to PC Beach,I was wading in knee deep water and had a three foot sand shark hit my leg. the ocean got a 'wee' bit deeper as I 'walked' on water to the beach.
I know the feeling, at least it wasn't a sand shark featured in jaws!
If you ever parasail over the beach, you will see HUGE stingrays and sharks that appear to be just yards from swimmers and beach goers.
