Got bored and decided to weigh my box of Barnes tsx 115 grainers. Started wondering what criteria you guys use to section out your bullets by weights (i.e. group bullets every .x grains).

What do you use for x?

Maybe a better way is % of weight variance since we would be dealing with different weights of bullets.

For a small amount of bullets like this,I look for the most that are closest together in wieght, within 0.5 gr of each other.

I've never seperated my bullets by weight. I don't think me or my rifles are good enough to tell a difference in a bullet that weighed a tad less or more than the previous. Heck, sometimes I can take a load out and shoot it into a dime sized five shot group...then a month later with the same rifle, same load, same scope, same bench, same range, and same shooter(me) I'll shoot a five round group that will barely be covered by a half-dollar. I learn something new everyday so my next batch I think I will seperate into most like weights \:D

I don't sort bullets by weight but when I am looking for utmost accuracy I do sort bullets by bearing length from a bullet comparator. I sort cases by weight in lots going from lightest to heaviest. That way like cases are placed side by side and the only way you're using unlike cases is if you're going from the last case in the set to the first. If one wants to the detail never ends.
