Well how many?
I got lucky and tagged 4 birds statewide, there were times I wondered if it would happen or not, but in the end it all came together.

Only went 2 or 3 times. Lost interest early and fished a bunch.

Zilch! Nada! Zero! And, I hunted more this year than probably any year in recent memory. My son did manage to miss two gobblers however, and I believe that a poacher may have killed one on us(a fresh strange shotgun hull/3&1/2"). As previously stated on this forum, ad nauseum, there tweren't near as many as there was a while ago,at least not in my neck of the woods.

captain hook is a allright guy he just wanted to see some data for the turkey management side of the house and BGG posted some good stuff about it yesterday. i know it opened my eyes on alot of stuff
it looks like to me from some of that stuff BGG posted , alot of people dont want to or arnt able to put more than 5 days in the woods hunting and they definately dont want to play in the bad weather with our feathered adversaries hahahahahaaa!!!!
but i agree lets not wake him up and poke him with a sharp stick... he even said he will get back on the subject with 3 years of data and is laying it to rest after he read the BGG data stuff that he posted.

I took three nice longbeards with a shotgun. Rolled one longbeard at thirty-five yards, it got up and flew away, (used a different load on that hunt). Missed one longbeard and knocked the feathers off another with a bow. Passed on probably ten jakes. I did not hunt the last eight days of the season. I hunted probably seven times.

I killed 4 in 4 days the first week of season. It will probably never happen again but every bird that responded to my calling those 4 days died but one, and i tried him first for three days in a row. My best hunt was last Thursday with my 7yr old son when he killed his first longbeard. That first week was great but it stinks when you can't carry a gun for the rest of the season. can't wait till the fall hunt

4-- 1 opening day,, stalked the other smith co.. called one in nashville,,, and stalked one and caught him as he was flying off... Went a total of 10 times and saw some birds every time,, passed on 3 or 4 jakes ,,, my second year turk hunting ,, reading and info on here paid off,, thankss...

i ended up with 3 decent birds my best season for taking a few and hunting them ol wiley birds. my hunting partner never got one and i wish my son hadnt missed .

Killed one and one got away two days before after I thought I had killed him he flew off. This was only my second season hunting them so I am happy with it.

Zero, but definitely progress on my Turkey hunting
Got closer than ever and probably should have shot, TWICE.
Had birds around me a few times but never closed the deal.
Im new to Turkey hunting, but had alot of fun!
