I have a buddy that likes his Genesis. He hunted with it and shot a doe in heavy rain last year.He swears by the weather proof 209 .

I love my Genesis!!! Can not be beat for what you get for the price. I have fired mine in rain and killed a doe also...I also killed a 'yote at 105 yrds, was the first thing I pulled the trigger on after sighting it in, one shot and hit exactly where I was aiming...Cleaning is a breeze and loading and shooting is easy. The only hinder in the design is the ram rod, and it is not a big deal...The ram rod has a tip that screws on and off for stowing the rod it goes on one way and for pushing a bullet or cleaning patch it goes the other way. I wish that it would stow and be able to push a bullet or cleaning patch in the same manner. But it unscrews and screws back on very easily. Also, there are no primer carriers or anything for holding the primers. You simply open the breach cover (extremely easy) and put a primer on over the Breach plug and you are done. On a scale of 1 - 10 I would give it a 9.9 If you buy it from Cabelas I think you can get the 2.5-7x32 Pine Ridge scope with it. It is a good scope but you may want to look at a different scope mount and rings...they are kinda cheep. The gun has nice long barrel 28" and will handle 150gr loads. Which I never shoot, but it can handle it if you do. Awsome gun...you can not go wrong with the Remington Genesis...I plan on shooting mine for years to come...
