This may be old news, but I put a little anti-bacterial hand soap on my knife and wiped it off with a paper towel and it was good as new.

I use real fine steel wool and warm soapy water to get the blood off.

I use soap to clean things also. I usually just use lake water.

I just used the hand soap in a little bottle. No water necessary!
