They are good guns but no where near true weatherby quality. They are actually made by howa.

Alright, I'm here now who wants my autograph??

One of my sons shoot one in 7mag and my middle boy shoots one in 270wsm. I have had them in .270 and .300 wsm they were fine shooters all. I wish I had kept the .300 it was a tack driver but I made a good trade for an older Winchester.

I like the .300 winys and the wsm.s over the Weatherby because of the cost of brass and theres not that much lacking between them and the Wbty .300.

The Vanguard is a solid rifle. Not a pretty as the Mark V's, but pretty darn close in accuracy. The consensus of the reviews on the rifle is that you get alot of bang for your buck.

A little trigger work will probably be needed. They are adjustable. I took the lazy way out and just replaced mine with a Timney. I've got Vanguard's in the 257wby, 30-06, and 300win. The 257 is the sub-moa version - like it needs it! Happy with all of them.

I've got a Mark V in the 300wby. I like the caliber. I thought the recoil was going to be bone jarring. You know it's there, but it isn't as bad as expected. I've only used it hunting wise out west. Taken a mule deer and an elk with it. Performance is what you expect with one of Roy's creation's.

Ammunition is higher. You'll save money if you reload. Barrel won't last long. And you'll grow a hair in the middle of the hand that you wack off with. I've heard them all.

If you want the gun and the caliber. Buy it. Sell it later if you don't like it.
