I have had both. I loved the Encore Pro Hunter. Very good groups and easy to clean. Of course the Savage is easy to clean as well. As time went on with the Savage I had to really for the bullet down the barrel. I even used a steel brush to try to clean the Savage. How did any of you clean the Savage and keep it easy loading. I would prefer the Savage as far as getting distance and accuracy. I even thought about the TC Omega. Anyone have one? Just trying to find out what muzzleloader I will be purchasing this year.

What kind of powder are you using in the Savage? I can't understand what would be causing the sabot/bullet to be increasingly difficult to load, especially if you are using smokeless powder. You aren't using bore butter in the barrel are ya?

THe Savage is 500 FPS faster with no fouling. It is very accurate. I like the encores, but there is no comparison, the Savage wins hands down. Now if they ever start making a smokeless Encore........

Savage by far.

And for at least two of us, a modified Savage in a few weeks.

What do you say Kevin?

Soon there will be at least two Savages in TN that will push 180-200 gr bullets as fast as my 7.08 does 140's.

I am itching to get the Pac Nor .45 cal barrel screwed on and dialed in!!!! And as quick as I can get it shooting, I have a few groundhog dens picked out!
