Does anyone here that shoots a crossbow, not use a cocking rope, and cock it back by hand?I am still having accuracy problems and can't figure it out.I am thinking of doing away with the 3 red dot scope and get a regular crosshair scope.I have already bought the mount, walmart had them on clereance for $19 regular $49 .

You are missing a good thing by not useing a rope cocker, you
wont get an accurate set useing your hands all the time and
that is where your problem may be comeing from, would try the
rope cocker over changeing scope first!

I marked each side of my string and have never had a problem with it not being accurate. If I miss it is on me not the x-bow.

Can you describe the problems you're having? I remember your earlier note and it seemed to be a scope mounting/adjustment problem.

What range are you shooting? What kind of groups are you getting? Are you shooting free-hand or from a rest?

Suggestion: Shoot from a solid rest at 20 yards and see if you can get consistency.

Just as a note of interest - I use a single dot scope. But now keep in mind that this is just MY choice; it may or may not work for you. I find that I can use a single dot much more effectively than trying to figure out which of three dots to use. It is just more instinctive for ME.

I am shooting field points mike.It is hard to say about the groups its getting.Im shooting from 20yds from a solid rest.I would say it is shooting a 6 to 8 in groups. But some times worse.Like i said,it will shoot real good 1 or 2 shoots and then bam it will be off 12 inches.Lady at my bow shop said something about the ends of the string streching. My string, when you cock it back, where it comes out of the cam with the strings wraped around looks like they are streching.

Yeh, what mike said...

Now one other thing. I'm a bit suspicious since you say that you get a couple of good shots and then the next one might be off. This comes to mind because I was guilty of it at first. Could you be "punching" the trigger? Concentrate on your sight picture and trigger SQUEEZE. That's just something that's easy to check and correct if necessary.

Like what Mike said it sounds like the spine stiffness is not right on the bolts. I shoot the Horton aluminum and can cut my fletchings off at will from a solid rest.

1 easy way to ck the arrows is to put 100gr tip on & see if it flys ok then,if its ok you will need lighter heads or diffrent arrows,i would do that before throwing another scope on it,if still no good swap a scope, wished you were closer we could get to the bottom of it pretty quick, small stuff can cause lots of greif so when you get it straightened out dont change stuff with out redking point of impact,mike243

Does anyone know where you can get those string hooks that come from Excalibur ? I would like to make a backup cocking rope.
