I bought a TC black diamond 50cal ML, can anyone tell me about their accuracy, and what would be the maximum yardage for a kill with 150gr. powder, and 250gr sabot. I am going to buy a TC Encore, when the funds become available, but I got a good deal on this ML, it is their kit package, with everthing but Black powder, and 209s', If anyone can tell me somthing about this ML I'll appreciate it.

I've been shooting one for about 5 or 6 years now. Mine is very accurate with 300 grain Hornady XTP sabots and 80 grains of Triple Seven powder.
Don't know much about the 150 grains of powder. On our place the farthest you'll usually shoot is 75 yards and the 80 grains of 777 does fine with that.

I had one that shot good with 100gr.,777..250gr...Sucker was a pain to clean tho.........

Do they foul up very much, or are you talking about the final clean before you put it up for the season, I've watched the video that came with it, and I've never owned a ML. I appreciate anything you might share with me about this TC BD. Thanks for the info, I have bad shoulders and don't think I'll try anything over a 100gr of black powder. I've already bought a 1 lbs can of Triple Seven, far $11 at Walmart on clearance, I've got to pick up some 209 primers, and a measuring guage, and I'll be ready to try it out. Does it kick as bad as a 30/06 with a 100gr load, or what would you compare the 80gr. and 100gr. loads, recoil close to in a rifle load.

Shooting 80 grains of powder and a 300 grain bullet produces a very manageable recoil. It's not bad at all. I shoot a 7mm-08 rifle and the recoil is very similar, maybe just a bit more.
They're not really that hard to clean but after you disassemble the rifle you do have to keep up with the parts. It usually takes me about 10 or 15 minutes to clean mine (And I'm very picky when I clean it) not counting taking it apart or putting it back together. Once you get used to it the maintenance is nothing big.
Winchester makes a special 209 primer for Triple Seven powder. They don't burn as hot and it prevents the powder from forming a ring near the breech plug. I like them.

I have a .50 Black Diamond and was very unhappy with it until I started shooting 100 grains of Triple 7 with 300 grain Shockwave bullets. This load is very accurate. I tried many other bullets for the past few years and was unable to get any accuracy until I went to the 300 grain sabot.

To all of you, thanks for sharing the info, and I'll try the different powder loads, and bullet combos. I have 250 shockwave, and 300 shockwaves, I also have 777 powder, and I,m going to by the Winchester 777 209's, are these the ones your talking about trapperjohn. And thanks for the heads up on the 209's and the overloading the breech plug, that will save some scrubbing there. Does the recoil pad that comes on the TC Blk. Dia, seem sufficient, at the 100gr powder/pellet loads, shooting the 250, or 300gr sabot. I saw the barnes sabot, I'll see if any of my cousins of friends close to me have them, so I can try one of them. thanks for all of y'alls help.

with the 150 gr. loads , you are wasting about 30-40 gr. of powder unless you have a looooong barrel.

I think the recoil pad that came with the rifle is sufficent, and I am a wimp after having shoulder surgery. I have never tried the new 209 primers that Trapper John mentioned, but I plan to soon. My rifle is bad to build up a "crud ring" at the range unless I clean the barrel between shots.
