They said the crown on the muzzle was bad. The test target they sent me was a 5 shot group at 100yds measuring 1.4moa, not what I was hoping for but somewhere to start. If I can get it down to 1moa I will keep it, if not I will sell it to someone who is okay with a 1.4 group. For deer hunting at less than 300yds 1.4 is fine, but as I said before I bought this gun for the exclusive purpose of shooting further. Off to the reloading bench and the range. I also got my Nikon 2x7x32 scope back from Nikon, they sent me a new one.

I no longer need the 2x7x32mm Nikon Prostaff #6308 Matte and it is for sale $120.00 shipped . They are $129.00 new plus tax and/or shipping.

The gun shoots alot better, 1.25moa with the same handloads that shot 3moa+ and a couple of 3 shot groups sub moa, one 4 shot group was about .6moa with a spolier making the group about 1.3. I believe the spolier was my fault, but the next few loads should really tell. Going to try some 180 Interlocks and some Retumbo not to mention playing around with the powder charges. I got a pretty good feeling she will shoot sub moa when I find the sweet spot, I kinda like a challenge. What a difference re-crowning the barrel can make.

I'm going to try loading some rounds past 3.60 which is listed as Max col. When I measure my max col with the 165 NBT I get about 3.87, man thats a long jump from 3.60. I'm going to try some at 3.75 and some Hornady 180gr IL's at 3.70 with the same powder charges as the one loaded to 3.60col. I'm okay with a two shot gun due to magazine length if thats what it take, come to think about I usually only put two or three rounds in my deer rifle, except for the AR. Back to the range in the AM if it's not raining.

I tried that with mine but couldn't see any significant improvement from loading at 3.600. The rifle wouldn't hold but two rounds in the magazine anyway so I only gained one with the shorter COL. Mine liked the 180 Accubonds jumped all the way to the lands with RL25. Of course your's may be an entirely different story. Good luck.

I need to shorten mine a tad,,I loaded it the other day and didn`t shot it and when I unloaded it the rifilings had a better grip on the molycoated bullet than the case did,,100 grains of powder in the action..

I tried the 180gr Hornady Interlocks with 100grs of Retumbo at 3.60 and they shot .23 at 50yds, I could'nt believe it. The 165's the same old thing, 1.3moa. I believe I will stick with these for now and maybe go up or down a little on powder to see if it tightens up any. I'm a happy camper, 100.5grs is max load and shows a listed velocity of around 3300, of course I'm going to chronograph it to really know. If this gun will maintain anything around .5 moa with a full power load I'll take it.

The scope is gone also.

I have to be careful with my AR, it has a tight chamber and likes to snatch bullets if their not exactly right. I have thought about small base dies, but have yet to get them. The regular dies seem to need a little more shoulder setback for my gun/chamber. I get one load off new brass and the dies resize to spec, but they all stick in the chamber, it won't shoot wolf ammo either, it sticks.
