i have never been predator hunting.I have wanted to try it for several years. They make it look easy on tv.I would rather kill a bobcat.I know they say bobcat take longer to respond than coyote.may take 45min. to one hour from what I hear.My question is how long do you call during that time frame?Do you call 1-2 min. and stop for 5 or call for 5 and stop for 5?I have never seen any info. on this. Also what should I do to increase my odds of getting a bobcat and what are the odds of calling in a bobcat?best call to use?

Good question. You know, we are taught to rattle or grunt for deer and wait in between sequences. We are taught to call a turkey and wait for 15 to 30 mins. before blind-calling again.

All the predator tapes and electronic calls I've heard for predators are constant. The noise never stops. If I have to blow incessantly with a predator call for 40 mins. per set-up, I'm going to pass out and die!

So let's hear some answers. How long do you call? What's the sequence? Do you switch from rabbit to fawn to bird to coyote yip or just stick with one noise per set-up?

i honestly call for about 30 seconds and then stop for 3-5minutes. i will spend about 30 minutes at most doing this in one location and then move on.

Called a bobcat in yesterday afternoon- first time I'd ever called anything in. It was awesome! I could have whacked him if it had been in season.

We called one up sunday in a rain and wind storm and the friend chigger shot and missed 3x's with a browning bolt action 300 if he had hit it,it would have been nothing left! He hand loads his bullets and these would take down an elk!

BTW, there are a few counties open year round for fox. I know Wilson Co. is - have no idea why.
