Got my Small Of the Back today. Not to bad, feels ok while sitting in my truck which is the main reason I got it. Anybody else have one? Whats your likes and dislikes?

I carried SOB the first 3-4 years I carried but I prefer 3 o'clock carry these days. SOB is probably one of the least popular carry methods these days judging by the posts I've read on glocktalk.

that what i use with compacts. love it in the summer if you wear a loose tshirt. plus if someone did come up on you and try to rob you , act like your reaching for a wallet and give them some lead poison.

If you fall on your back expect a world of hurt. That's the big dislike I had. I was never comfortable with the distance of the reach either. At 3-4 o'clock my arm is right over the holster and I can turn directly away from a threat at the angle I like (in some scenarios). I never liked the idea of drawing and sweeping my right leg either, although some types of positions can eliminate that, but it wasn't comfortable for me.

I just bought thunderwear ,the mian reason is I can carry while working and need to keep it concealed while bending down to work on hvac units.I also like the fact that I can carry without a shirt on in warm weather.I also find it comfortable while driving in my work van.I carry a Para p12-45

I thought I'd like the SOB carry, but the seats in my wife's car are pretty firm. It got VERY uncomfortable, VERY quickly. I've since adapted to IWB carry at around the 4:00 position. It's the most comfortable, concealable, and easiest draw that I've found. I've been carrying a little over a year. The pants I've bought since then have helped facilitate IWB carry, since I buy a size up. I pretty much quit wearing my old jeans since they barely fit me WITHOUT my carry piece. I'm looking for a holster that's IWB and OWB, all in one, so I can get back to wearing jeans.

As far as another drawback, some schools of thought frown upon SOB carry for two reasons: Back injury if you fall (not very likely) and that during the SOB draw-to-fire, at one point you will end up with the muzzle towards your body. I prefer IWB or OWB because you always point your gun away from you. Plus, you lose nothing in concealment.

Also, for anyone else out there in the carrying community, http://www.usacarry.com is a great forum-style website to check out.
