Folks I thought I'd post this here as well as on the regular forum.

A cogent question: Given that it's a very real possibility that stringent anti-RKBA legislation will be enacted after the elections later this year, what are you doing to prepare for it?

My personal choice is to buy ammo and ammo-makin' components in bulk. There are those who's choice will be to buy guns, and I have nothing against that choice. But, having the gun means nothing if you can't get the ammo.

For those who don't have an AR lower hangin' around, sure, get two, they're cheap & sure to be on the banned list. But outside of that, I can't envision getting more guns if I can't reliably feed 'em. Then there's the .22 rimfires. You can't reload for the rimfires easily. So let's talk quantity.

Tossing this out as a discussion point, I'd think 20,000 rounds of .22 rimfire is a minimum you should have on hand. Keep in mind, what's on hand when the law goes down just might be all your ever gonna have. When I can burn 500 rounds a day, not every day but certainly do-able, that's not too much. What about your primary and secondary pistol ammo? Primary and secondary rifle ammo? What do you guys think the minimum on hand should be?

Wonderful thing about ammo... it never seems to decrease in price. From that standpoint, I think anyone would be well served to stash a ton. Then the only problem is lugging it around. I've toted some handgun ammo through 3 moves. It does get old....

I am saving funds for an AR of some sort as we speak. I figure that a Dem has a high likelyhood of getting into office so I figure I better get one soon or there may be no later. I have already been policeing my local range for 223 brass and already have a good amount.
