I have been meaning to post a review of this rifle but have not gotten around to it.

The first thing I noticed when I got it was it had a better piece of wood than any Ruger I have ever had, so that was better than expected.

The action is typical Ruger, solid but could use a little slicking up. I think with time it will smooth up a bit.

The trigger is a definite improvement over thier old one. ZERO creep and breaks crisply at I am guessing 3.5-4lbs.

I really like the new matte finish versus the old high lustre blue.

The wrap around checkering is nice especially on the forend and the smaller diameter stock fits nicely in the hands.

The recoil was actually less than I expected, still pretty good but nowhere near what I anticipated. I would compare it to my 338 Win Mag or just a tad more but not much. The felt recoil could really be improved if they would put a better recoil pad on it other than the 1/2" hard red pad. I have put about 40 rounds through it so far.

Overall I would rate this as the best Ruger rifle I have ever owned.

Yesterday I took the rifle to my gunsmith to put on an ebony forend tip, full length bed the stock and also put on a black pachmayer decellerator pad. I have been using a Leupold VX-II 2-7x33mm on it and probably will leave it on there as it seems to be a good fit. When I get the gun back from the smith I will post pics so you'll have to wait about 6 weeks!

Oh yeah I did work up one load with it pushing a 270 grain Swift A-Frame at 2,800 fps at 10' from the muzzle. This is about 100 fps faster than the 375 H&H with the same load. I can't wait to shoot something other than paper with it! Hopefully that waterbuck in Africa that has eluded me for two years in a row now.

Good deal. Did you have any problems with the front sling swivel stud coming into contact with your hand when shooting? I have heard some guys say that this is their only complaint with the Ruger 375. Everybody that I know that has one, loves it.

Not that I can remember. I am not having a front swivel stud put back on though with the new forend. If I decide to use a sling with it then I will put a band on the barrel instead.
