Was cruisin through the internet today trying to download reading materials before I go to Afghanistan. Caught a web site that stated that CVA rifles had a tendancy to blow up. Did some more research and cant find much more on it. Most of what I read on other websites didnt have anything bad to say about them. I own one and wont load it over what is reccomended.
Currently shooting 150gr pyrodex pellets w/ 295gr powerbelt bullet (aint read much good about them either...from the same website).
Any of you heard anything bad about these ML?
rookie ML.

CVA are good rifles. The .50 cal Hawken was the first ml i ever owned. I've always had good luck with them and have a few CVA black powder pistols.

I know several people that have them and I have shot several myself(break actions) and all seem satisfied..I don't care for the powerbelts tho...

The CVA's that I had were heavy and the parts were flimsy and cheap compared to what I shoot now. They shot very well.

I'm glad mod70 you mentioned the parts. I forgot that one. The sidelocks had a v-shaped main spring. Mine broke and i replaced it myself but it was a pain. Almost took my eye out when it popped out of the vise grips. Mine was a heavy rifle also but i liked it.

Check the CVA web site there was a recall on some a while back and I think what you found was "Talk" about that,as I seem to recall one reason for the recall was barrels bursting.

I owned three different ones and never had any trouble what so ever out of any of them. Can't beat them for the price.
