Lets say you have an acre to acre and a half in mature yellow pines on your small property(85 acres) I know they cant benefit deer that much so do you take them out and let it grow into even more cover or is it even worth it? What would you do? The pines are what I have the big Red arrow going to in this pic in the lower left lol

I'd keep the pines for thermal cover where the deer can bed in inclement weather .

My question would be what do you plan on doing with the trees, if you get rid of them? An acre or so is not enought to sell and would be a hell of a mess to simply cut down. They are deffinently thermal cover for the deer as well as a roost for turkey (or atleast thats where the roost at my spot). You could thin them by girldling or selective cutting to allow light to the ground...

I'd keep them.

I'd cut around them to grow a ring of thicket and leave the pines as a sanctuary
