What about an SKS? I check out the pawn shops in my area alot because I have an hour for lunch and need something to do. Anyway, I have noticed alot of these guns lately. I dont know a whole lot about them, but I have noticed there are about 1000 different versions and as many prices. You can pay anywhere from $200.00 to ?????? I also noticed there are alot of accessories on the internet. Does anyone have experience with these things? I dont reckon I need one but it may be a little cheaper to dress it up than my Encore was.

I have a SKS and it is a blast to shoot. Ammo is pretty cheap. I added a new stock to mine along with some other accessories. If you want a good throw around gun that you don't have to worry about scratching or dinging up, not a bad choice.

Great little plinkers, do your internet research before buying, as you said many versions and levels of quality. Beware of shot-out barrels.
