stirrat -

My Dad showed me that sight too and was I amazed at the imagery. So much so that I am convinced it was taken with aircraft as opposed to satellite. Unfortunately not too many areas have the birds eye view feature though. I guess we're the lucky ones that can do our preseason scouting from the internet...

Here's what stirrat is talking about as far as quality of pic. You can zoom in much closer but this pic shows the detail of the imagery. If I go in too close, you'll just be looking at treetops.

I take that back...here it the homestead zoomed in...

You can even see the same area from a different orientation. Here is the exact same homestead from a North to South orientation.

That's why these images have to be taken from an aircraft, I do not believe a satellite can not produce this kind of orientation.

Here are two more orientations (4 in all N,S,E,W) with the homestead zoomed in.

and...

Now everyone stay outta my honey hole!

It is about 15 years behind at my location and like most no "birdseye view."

Have you guys tried http://www.virtualearthmaps.com? You can bird'seye certain areas there also with exceptional detail. I can tell what's in the back of my truck. The pics I've seen were made in about March of 07.

The link includes a question mark at the end that shouldn't be there (it is the end of the sentence, not a part of the link. Right click on the link, copy it and paste it into your browser and delete the question mark on the end.
