If you plant kudzu you will soon have ONLY kudzu on your place.

kudzu is an irreversible misery, that stuff can grow 1-2 feet per day and will choke out EVERYTHING. The only thing that I would use kudzu for is for landscape revenge on someone you don't like. BSK, do you know where I can get some kudzu seed. \:\) Seriously, it was first used by CCC 1930s(I think) for cover management practices to reduce erosion and stabilization of soft road cuts. Now it's a menace. I don't know how it escapes any government eradication efforts with regards to it being an invasive species, they may have just wrote it off.

kudzu is a excotic invasive. It is not native to our country was imported as a experment. It was a big mistake. It takes over and kills native plant life and can not be controlled. Deer will eat it and bed in it. Good Luck hunting or tracking something in it.

Run. Away.

Ever see the movie "The Blob?" Kudzu does the same thing. If you stand still long enough it'll eat you too.

Only thing kudzu is good for is brushing a duck blind.

stovepipe, actually USDA (NRCS) has 2 different cost share programs available for kudzu eradication. This opportunity has been available for the last 3 years.

Ha! Not trying to rub your nose in it. A LOT of people don't realize that there are government programs (both state and federal) out there to help you manage your property. \:\)

I would think that it would actually be illegal to transplant kudzu, since there are government programs in place to get rid of it.

Definitely research that before trying it.

Best bet - use something else. Due to its growth rate, you'll have your hands full trying to contain its spreading.

Always look at Kudzu as an invader and an enemy ...have seen Deer
in it many times and they even eat it when it is brown and dry
But I dont think I would ever consider planting it..LOL
Several other plants and crops to choose from. Good Luck
