I have a Nikon Monarch Gold 1.5-6 with the German #4 reticle that I was thinking about putting on my 300 WSM instead of the Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 that's on it now. I'm tired of seeing this awesome scope just lying around with no rifle. Right now it shoots sub-MOA with the Conquest.
Which of these scopes would you top a 300 WSM with?

I like quite a bit of magnification on a rifle so I would go with the Zeiss, BUT I guess it all boils down to how far you are shooting(ie the terrain your hunting) Even then you never know when one could step out somewhere further and the extra magnification would be nice. For me personally it would be fine deer hunting but I only fire one to two rounds a year at deer and thousands at targets so even a 9X leaves me wanting more magnification.

Save the lower power for a shorter range outfit. I hve that same scope on my Savage MLII muzzleloader.

I'm with Tim. The rifle is capable of 400+ yards but I wouldn't be doing that w/a 6X scope.

Save that scope for another rifle.
