youth scope?

i bought a rossi triple threat youth model for my 7 year old for christmas.it came with a drilled and taped .22 and .243 barrel.my question is i want to get a scope and need some advice on the best model for a youth size rifle.money aint that big of a deal but id like to keep it cheap till i see if hunting/shooting is going to be for him.

I Would suggest a Compact Model or any not over 3x9xx40mm ,a 2x-7x33-40 might be even better.
I think Leupold still makes the compact line and Burris has the short mag series,basically I would try to keep the scope short and light,but I don't think a standard 3-9x40 would be to large for that rifle.
A shotgun scope model would also work only thing some of these are 1/2" adjustment @ 100 instead of 1/4" if that is important.
