I have an Encore with a .50 cal mz barrel and a .243 barrel. I hunt WMA's off and on where you can't use a rifle so I take my muzzleloader. As much as I do this, it's a pain in the butt swapping out the barrels that much. So, I got to wondering if you can you just buy an encore receiver without getting a barrel. Anybody know?

Thanks muddyboots. Did you have to get it directly from T/C or did a gun shop have to order it?

I got it from the Bow Shack in Counce, TN. He actually pulled it off a gun and sold it to me and then ordered him one to replace it.

I bought my encore reciever from Bass Pro about 2 years ago. Don't know if they still got 'em.

I was in there yesterday and they do keep a couple of encore frames in the back. They had a stainless one with camo stock for $379 but I held off until after Christmas. Maybe I'll end up with some BP gift cards. \:\)
