For all you guys that are recommending good guides in west tennessee. Is there a guide in the w tn area that specifically specializes in divers or big water hunting. Really needing a shot at a canvasback drake to go with my hen mount. Thats asking a lot i know, but I had rather hunt divers than puddlers. I've tried finding some on the internet but everything is puddle ducks. I can shoot mallards on the beaver swamps in NC, when I go home, but the divers require a drive that would make is just as close for me to go to Miss river.

I have duck hunted my whole life in west TN from TN river to the Miss plus the delta in N. Miss. I've probably only killed 20 or so canvasbacks in 28 years. The majority coming in one season. It takes reeeaaalll cold weather to see them IMO. They we're killed in 93' on the TN River after everything was frozen.
I would think there would be alot of divers on the rivers and lakes in east TN.

Thats what I thought when I moved here, but its slim pickens on this end. Goin out tomorrow to do some scouting. I know the cans are no easy chore to accomplish, but just the opportunity would be nice. Know any diver outfitters?

We kill tons of divers our blind is on the river. We kill bluebills, bufflehead, ring bills, canvasbacks, redheads, and then we pick up some puddlers also. I can not promise on but a canvasback but you never know when we go. We killed 6 bluebills and 2 buffleheads today.
