What we could use is a true "short action" magnum. Like a .22 mag length action but for a cartridge like the WSSM's but in somethin like a 6.5 or 7mm.

The should forget the 300 and just do the 338.

The should forget the 300 and just do the 338.
Or went 257,6.5 and 338.

I vote for a successful caseless ammo and rifle for the sportsmen. That would do what you say and more. They've been developed for military use but I haven't heard anything about the concept in a while.
