Whats the law on the distance required from a permanent structure while duck hunting on a public lake? In NC on the coast it's 500yds, here its going to be hard to set up out of the boat trying to get that far away from a permanent structure or residence. Thanks.

Page 14:
12.It is unlawful to hunt, shoot at, chase, or kill any wild animal, wild bird or wildfowl on public lands and waters within 100 yards of a visible dwelling house, without the owner’s permission, whether or not such a dwelling is on public or private lands.
Hunting Guide interesting reading.

Thanks infoman. That sure doesn't seem like very far. One good volley and you would definately wake up the trophy wife in her million dollar home.
Why read when I can type. those mags are like chapstick to me. there is always 4 or 5 laying around the house, but you can never find one when you need it.

Always keep that in mind when you set up to hunt. Make good decisions.

Make sure you check the mileage markers around Knoxville, some places are only open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.
Also make sure to bring a good spoting scope, those little honeys run around with very little on and often never realize you are even there. There is a plastic surgen out there I owe a big thank you too. He does some great work!

He is referring to Fort Loudoun WMA. Check out the information in the hunting guide. It is only open 3 mornings during the week.
