Done that a couple of times.

It doesn't fold up and pack away to something that you can carry in a backpack but I'd look into a deer cart. They sure beat dragging.

Grab a length of rope and tie a knot to form a loop. put it around a does neck. Then cut you about a 2ft stick put it into the loop and twist until tight around the does neck and the stick. Put the stick behind your back and drag behind you with both hands. Easily done!!!

Try an old indian trick. Cut a green, straight stick about 3/4 to an inch in diameter about 12 to 14 inches long. Sharpen one end. This really works well if you have to drag a doe. Take a sharp-tipped knife and cut a slit in the nose cross-ways (think like putting a ring in a bull's nose). Slide the sharp end of the stick through the deer's nose so you have an equal amount sticking out both sides. Grab it with both hands behind your gack, and there you have it, a primitive deer drag. Works well because it gets the deer's head and shoulders off the ground. Ron Jolly, an old friend and Primo's television producer showed me this trick on a hunt on Enon Plantation down in Alabama several years ago. Works pretty slick, unless you tear the nose. Make sure you don't do this to a buck you want to have mounted because it will screw up the nose.

Try this one.. wait to you see a buck with big enough horns to shoot so you can use its horns as a handle to drag them out.

I took my old summit harmess that was recalled and sewed a d-loop on the back, attached the leg strap to the d-loop. Put it around the deer's neck and this way it uses my back and legs to pull it with ease and safety without tiring as bad.
