I shooting 2-50gr 777 Pellets with a 240gr powerbelt bullet. I'm having problems seating the bullet between shots, due to a build up in the bottom 2-3" of my barrel. I'm having to remove the breech plug every shot to clean this area, just to seat the bullet the same. As you can imagine my accuracy sucks. I never had this problem with loose powder, is this common with pellets?

I haven't seen it so bad that I had to pull the breechplug, but the pellets arenoticeable worse than loose.

Try using 777 primers, that helped me out. I was shooting the winchester 209 primers that left a nasty crud ring after firing a couple rounds.

I had that same problem until I started using loose powder.

Loose powder it is. It much cleaner and seems, by grains has more power. Thanks for your comments.

Had the same problem. The primers are causing the problem. Changed to the Winchester 777 primers and no more crud. I couldn't belive how easy it was to load and to clean after changing primers.

I have no problem with mine. I can load 6 shots without even swabbing between shots. Shooting 2-50grn.777 pellets and TC shockwaves 250's (Same thing as a Hornady SST 250) Try changing primers!

I am just curious as to how the primer would affect the barrel an inch or two in front of the load. My understanding was that he was having a problem getting his next load down in the barrel, especially the last 2-3 inches. Are you all saying the primer is fouling the barrel after it has ignighted the powder charge and driven the bullet out?
