I don't have experence with the 209's. I am pleased to say I've never had a mis-fire since converting to Musket caps.They are Big making them easy to handle and HOT !!! They sound like a 22 when you fire one off to clean your barrel and nipple .

Yes, definately change it. 209 primers give you a more promissing ignition, more weatherproofing, and higher velocities.

Convert to 209
I like the Remmington brand best, seems to burn cleaner.
