if i sight my gun in at 7 power , will it throw it off if im hunting and adjust it up to 10 power to take a longer shot? (nikon monarch 3.5x10x50)

Good question, It shouldn't, but the way the parallax is you need to make sure that the scope stays square with the view and your eye. I have always shot a 4 fix power. I just haven,t shot varis enough to feel cofortable with that very issue. I am interested in seeing what others with more experiance useing vari powers have to say.

With a quality scope, no. And a Monarch is definitely a quality scope.

I always sight mine in at the highest power. Why? Because your long range shots will probably be taken with the scope on that power. I do this even with real high dollar scopes.

The first variable scopes, yes it would change, but the new ones are much better and there is no need to worry about it.

my lupy 2.5x8 vari x 111 is parrelex set to 150 yards no change in point of impact that i have ever noticed in the power range at all shooting out to that distance or beyond really i keep it on 2.5 for hunting and zero/ confirm on 8 power, really cant think of when i have ever zipped it up to shoot a deer though...
