Just a stab in the dark here since I have no clue what it is going on, but check out the Busnell Banner line of scopes. Very good scopes, not alot of greenback.

Two weeks ago I bought a Bass Pro Redhead Epic 2-7X32 for $89. (I had a printed sale flier from their website; in-store price was higher, but they honored the internet price.)
It has fully-multicoated lenses and a fast-focus eyepiece. Water proof, shock proof, nitrogen filled. Comes with a full lifetime waranty. Side by side it looks almost exactly like the Bushnell Legend (which sells for more than the Banner) and is supposedly made by the same people.
I've only used it for a week, but really like it. It's much clearer and brighter than naked eye. It earned it's pay last week just before dark. I saw a big doe at about 100 yards; put the scope up and it was clear as a bell. I pulled back the hammer and was just about to squeeze the trigger when I saw two small spikes between it's ears! That scope let me let 'im grow.

Weaver V3. Muzzleloaders have a different type of recoil that tends to kill scopes. The Weaver V3 is a tank and a great scope for the money. 1-3x20 with a really wide field of view. You don't need a high power scope for ML ranges, i.e 200yrds or less.
