my Parker Safari classic seems uncomfortable to hold...I found myself constantly fidgeting and repositioning the bow to sit on my lap...is it just me? I feel like I trying to hold a piece of furniture in my lap while waiting for a deer

Some feel that way and others don't. Thats why its so important to buy one feels real comfortable. Sit down hold it, thats the best way to find out if you will be able to handle it. I have tryed a bunch of them and the 2 i found great feeling to me sitting down and stetched out. Excals Vixen and Parkers Buck Buster. Their weight was very managable fer me. I have several herniated disc's and back surgery. So i have check them before i spend my hard earned dollars. I got an older Vixen and want to get the Parker Buck Buster next.

Yup and Ten PT. has something simular it connects out on the forarm and back to yer waist. The people who have got them seem to like them. Try them out and see which works fer you.

I thought it was just me with the same "complaint" (not that I'm complain' too loudly). I've got a great xbow and it shoots terrific, but it is not as easy hold as a rifle.

I too don't like holding my Horton in a tree stand. I put an ATV gun rack on the bar in front of my stand to rest the bow on. It is front heavy and wants to tip forward, so I have a small bungee cord holding the stock down. I also use one of those knee pods to steady the bow while I shoot.

right here lately, I've been hunting in the middle of a sumac/brier thicket (I had to bush hog a trail into it for a stealthy approach)...the best stand scenario I could improvise was a 6inch cherry tree...I'm only using one section of my ladder stand...I'm really only about 7 feet off of the sticker bushes and the action is absolutely smoking....I'm surrounded by deer and I'm constantly have to switch arms....I've got to keep the bow in my hands the whole time cause deer are subject to appear almost in my lap instantly....I plugged a turkey at 8 yards evening Nov 10...I was commenting really on how awkward it is to keep the darn thing in your lap...believe me, It is something I don't mind getting used to. When rifle starts, I can back out of this thicket and watch the whole area from 150 yards away...I love my Parker and I spent 6 months trying different bows before I selected it....it's just hard to 'poke' it through an opening for a shot...potential shots I'm looking for present themselves regularly at less than 15 yards in this particular stand....I slip in, don't use any grunts, sit tight and be patient....it's addictive

My favorite stand to hunt with the crossbow is the summit viper. I can lay the bow on the gun rest and it sits there perfectly. If something comes by, I can have the bow in hand will little effort or movement in quick time. I have other stands that I can hunt with a crossbow, but the vipers the best.

I've made myself hunt strictly out of a climber when hunting with a crossbow. I just can't get comfortable in a ladder stand and trying to hold onto a xbow.

A lot of the problem may be your tree stand. I use a NorthStarr and there is a place to lay my Xbow down on this stand right in front of me while in a sitting position.

I have to admit, if I had to hold any crossbow on my lap, I probably quit bow hunting. I have six or eight of the srew in hanger thingies from Realtree. They work great. On one of my ladder stands, there is a rest bar across the front and the crossbow fits on it nicely...as long as I don't forget and try to cross my legs. I use a hanger on that one, too.
