Which is more explosive to y'all? Ive killed deer with both and seen the fury both release on a deer. I know the ballistic tip is basically a lead bomb but after shooting the mammoth fawn I got in west tn Im starting to question which is more explosive.
I dont know if it was the deer's body size and body fat or what but this was the biggest exit wound I have ever seen on a animal. It completely ruined the backstrap on its right side and destroyed the spine (entry hole was jus a hair high and behind the left shoulder).

The partition is designed so that the tip is somewhat frangible for expansion purposes, but the remainder of the bullet remains intact for penetration purposes.
The ballistic tip's constructions is similar throughout, so it's expansion (and possible explosion) is directly related to impact velocity. Push em too fast or hit something too hard, and they'll disintegrate. This is compounded by the fact that the core is not bonded to the jacket.
Both are great bullets, designed to perform completely differently.

If I had to use one bullet from now on in all big game hunting it would be the Nosler Partition,,,the fron half is just as explosive as the BT and the shank pokes through,,the Accubond would be my second choice..

Both a very explosive at short ranges pushing high velocities say beyond 3000 ft per sec.. I think over kill for small deer sized animals, especially if you hit em wrong (they really tear them up) The Ballistic tip does fine after it slows down enough (long range) The partition is made to hammer & penetrate bigger tough skinned animals

I have shot a buck and three elk with partitions, all instant death, and all complete pass throughs without any more meat destruction than any of your "standard" bullets. IMO it is "the" bullet. I have loaded and shot paper with ballistic tips, but never any game.

A buddy of mine shot a good size deer with a 270 wsm partition The hole on the other side was so big, you could almost put your head through It blew up almost 1/2 the deer Deer handgrenade
