I would like an idea or two on a good technique for dragging a deer by yourself. Do you use a rope? strap? How to you tie it? I assume you pull it head first like do. And if it is a doe do you grab it by the feet..... do you let the head drag or pick it up someway? I'm just looking for a better idea, because every time I drag one I think there has to be a better way.
Thanks in Advance, Trap55555

I will stick mine in a cheap tarp. It drage a whole bunch easier! I have seen the deer sled advertised by Ted Nuggent and think it would work great as well.

I haven't tried my sled yet, but I hear good things about it.
The easiest thing to use is a rope with a handle. Go to Wal Mart or Bass Pro or Dicks or Academy Sports and look at the Glen Del (or something like that) deer drag. It's a handle with a loop of rope attached. Look at the picture on the package to see how you use it for either a doe or buck. Then, if you don't want to spend the money to buy it, go home and make your own. That's what I did.

Use a ski rope handle, same as the glen's deer handle and alot cheaper. Also if you can find an old Heavy duty poncho you can wrap the deer up in that to drag it out, slides better and keeps dirt and leaves out!

If a doe, we usually tie it's front hoofs above it's head making a handle with a rope and drag away.

The deer sled rolls up to about a 8" x 3 ft. diameter for easy transport. I have a bow/gun pocket built into my pack and works great for carrying my sled if I want to. You could also just attach a string and carry it like a arrow quiver. Weighs next to nothing

I cut a stiff branch put it between the back leggs and tie a summit treestand rope to it and it is an easy drag . I do this since the 4-wheler is down and I sold the jeep with the winch on it.
