I haven't done this since moving to west Tn. I used to have a spot in Smith county. The only way to the truck was Uphill all the way.A long rope ,and a pulley would do the job.Tie the rope to the deer,go up hill about 3/4s the length of the rope ,tie your pulley to a tree ,go back down hill using your weight to pull the deer up,Repeat as needed.

No Simpler: most go into the woods and have a set of pruners + or a small hand saw. GOOD! After dressing the deer look for a straight branch about 3-4inch in diameter and about 4-5feet long. make two small cuts with ur knife through their tarsal gland then slide pole thru both hope this has helped as much as it has for myself. This way you can have easily help from other

Long rope and my pull bars on the truck. Don't care how far, just run the rope around a tree attach to deer and put truck in reverse.

Grab a length of rope and tie a knot to form a loop. put it around a does neck. Then cut you about a 2ft stick put it into the loop and twist until tight around the does neck and the stick. Put the stick behind your back and drag behind you with both hands. Easily done!!! That is the only way I do it. I have a folding saw with me at all times in the woods for this purpose only.
