Then take your MZ and shoot at it one time, hunting conditions, no bench rest or any of that stuff. If you can't hit it every time then you're kidding yourselves about your marksmanship and ought to seriously think about maiming game at such distances. I use the pie plate deal because that is about the size of the vitals of a whitetail deer. Missing at 50 yards is not acceptable by anyone, then why would missing at extreme distances be acceptable either. Same difference.

I guess you missed the parts where I've done my practice. Anything I need to be doing in excess of that Mr. Hathcock?

I've shot sub-1/2 moa at 200 (.746") and just over moa at 300. I think me and my weapon are less than "pie plate" moa.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I could miss tomorrow, but I don't need a practice tip from you.

Obviously, you don't need any tips from anybody, as good as you are. Although you are apparently a Quigley type, my "suggestion" was one in general, one of reality directed to whomever thinks they are the great shots at absurd distances. It certainly would not apply to anyone as skillful as you, and I apologize if I have offended someone who is apparently one of the masters of the art of long distance shooting. You ever shot your MZ on a 1000 yard range? Man, I can see it now, wetting your front sight with your thumb, right before you dead center the 10 ring. I realize that your "weapon" is topped with glass, but think of the drama the old Alvin York darkening the sight move would add. Fantastic!

That's what I find impressive. They did'nt have the tools we have now, but they were more proficient with their weapon than most today. Read a story somewhere about a fellow that killed an indian chief at 1500 yards.

Congrats on the accomplishment.....on the other hand, I have to agree with the critics. Such marksmanship is to be commended....as long as it is neccessitated by valid reasons (military action). I see no justifiable reason to prove extreme marksmanship skills on living creatures as a sporting endeavor. Ego doesn't season venison nearly as well as cajun rub. ;\)

Jesus H Christ! ewc has shot the ever living piss out of that mz and has shot one like it for the past few years. He knows what it, and he, can do. I guess some folks expect everything to step out at 50 yards and wait to get whacked. Long range shooting isn't for everybody, but for the people who practice week in and week out...its anything but a 'sporting endeavor'.

Guess you'll have to explain that one a little more clearly so we lay marksmen and hunters can understand. I suppose I may be misinterpreting the desperate need for sustinance for egotistical prowness.A living creature deserves more respect, period. Practice on paper, for demonstrations on paper. The limits of what "he" or anyone else can do does not need to be proven needlessly at the expense of a life. BTW, I've yet to powder burn one. ;\)

Great shot, sounds like you've done your homework when it comes to knowing how your ml shoots. I know some people are questioning the distance, but your probably just as accurate @ 300 yards as most are @ 100 to 150 yards and that's hard on some of their egoes!

Well, you're probably confused over who has an ego problem here, but hey, maybe some of us can go to artillery school and become his spotters. LOL

You have obviously confused ego with compassion and humanity. I don't envy the skills of others. The unnecessary use of a living target is the only point that I made. Relate it to the school bus driver playing chicken when picking up your children. Maybe he drives like Steve Mcqueen, but there's always that one chance of some unforseen interference, and a crippled child.......good hunting.

I don't care what anyone says, 326 yards with a muzzleloader is AWESOME! I would be willing to bet that %80 of the people on this site could not hit a deer at that distance with a hi-powered rifle. Congrats!
