Ok my property has been surveyed but the only markers used were metal corner stakes and orange ribbons. Is there a certain color paint to use to mark the borders or no? Thanks

We used the bright orange spray paint to mark the trees on the boundary line. I am not sure if there a specific color required by law to use to mark your property line.

I thing you can use about any color to mark your line. A lot of people use red. Isn't there a law in TN that if the boundry is marked with royal blue paint, it is the same as having it posted with NO TRESPASSING signs?

State boundary lines are indicated by a 2-3 inch blue strip of spray paint. Private property you can use whatever color you want. However, remember that no matter what you use it's not much use unless the land is properly posted with signs. Paint is simply applied to indcate a boundary. If you are going to boundary mark it I would recommend blue because most people are familiar with the meaning of that color, and if you ever have your land select or clear cut you don't want your loggers to get confused.

I use yellow on my place in GA. I take a machete and hack out just a little square and paint it blue with heavy latex paint. Then come back and post it with high quality aluminum signs which I screw into the trees with aluminum screws.

I 'was' thinking of running a single wire - not barb'd or anything just like electrict fence type wire - and putting No Tresspassing signs on that or blue surveyors ribbon - ??

I have some 4-wheeler trails crossing my property in AL. I am afraid a singe wire might decapitate someone driving through in low light.

Yep that's what we do. People tear down our posted signs like candy. According to my father who is a deputy the blue paint is as good as signs, so we do both.
