Well he was drawn for Hiawassee Ref. and we went and scouted a couple weeks ago, I found a nice spot to set up our blind.
The hunt was this past weekend and at 7:41 Saturday morning he took his first shoot, and average size doe broadsided about 25 yards away. I searched for 2 hours for a blood trail but found none, but the excitement was unreal. I was a nervous or more so then he was. He was really fired up, hopefully now I have a hunting partner for life.
At around 12:15 a second dear came by but he was unable to get set up on it before it walked behind a large log. We saw another deer that evening and none on Sunday morning. All and all a real fun trip. I was really hoping his first hunt would end in a harvest, but believe it was very successful regardless

Great story, congrats to the both of you on you hunting trip. Harvest is an added bonus, but never required! Glad you two were able to enjoy the time together....sure one you wont forget anytime soon, or you litle one!

The best thing is spending time with your child. I know i cherish every moment with mine in the woods and out.
