Unless you are walking through water that will cover your rounds I seriously doubt that you will need it. Military ammo uses it sometimes but it is for very long time storage.

Never.
No telling how many rounds I've loaded over the years, some stored for over a decade, and I've never had a squib or misfire. Just isn't needed.

Once loaded for a guy who hunted in Canada that made me use it on his. Never used it before or since. Never found the need.

I don't reload, but I shoot and often look for drylock shotgun shells that have the primer sealed (red painted primer). They just seem to be a good fit during duck season.

I can see the use of sealant on a shotgun shell for duck hunting in and around lots of water in all kinds of weather or military rounds under field conditions. I never have used any though in my hunting rifles and I hunt in all weather conditions and have never had a problem. Most rifle breeches seal tight enough for no problem unless you just dunked it in a puddle. I would worry more about an accumulation of the varnish from the sealant getting in the firing pin mechanism over long term use. Never used it though so I don't know if that is so or not.
