Took the Ruger to the ranges and she is getting .5 moa with 139gr Hornady Interlocks and 140gr barnes TSX's. This one is going to be a keeper.

I've got a little model 93 Mauser that I'm thinking about scoping. Something about 7X57 that intrigues me.

And well it should! With the 139 gr bullet it is hard to improve upon as a medium game round. Amazing, since it is 114 years old.

Field and Stream (july 07, David Petzal)rated the 7x57 and 7mm-08 the top mid sized rounds (a tie)in a recent article..("Big Game, Light kickers"). They are essentially the same.
