I have read with intrest all the posts about people worring about being scent free. I treated my clothes in this fashion 6 years ago and it still is working. I know that it is because back during the first part of archery season I had 2 yotes walk downwind of me at about 15 yards and never knew I was around. Here goes.. First wash your clothes in whatever method that you prefer. Then when you are ready to dry them but some some chunks of cedar in the dryer with them and let them dry. (Disclaimer-DO NOT DO THIS IN YOUR HOME DRYER IT WILL MAKE ALL OF YOUR CLOTHES SMELL LIKE CEDAR....)

I used the one in the local state park the last time I did this. \:D I guess you could do it at the local laundry mat...

Ive been smelling like cedar for a few years.I put cedar chips in a old sock or pillow case.I wash with it also.I prefer the wet chips for drying.Don't want em to catch on fire.I store my clothes with em also.I use my home washer. The cedar smells not bad on the next load of towels or whatever. I've had em close enough to touch in my ground blind and didn't get busted.

cedar smells so good, buti would think this only works if cedar is a natural smell in the area. any experience with it in "non-cedarous" areas? you can also rub pine needles onto your clothes if you hunt pine stands. or bathe in pine-sol

Adding scent to clothing is not a necessary task. What is important is reducing or neutralizing the scent which is what hunting sprays and laundry soaps accomplish. Might want to remember also that if they can smell cedar in your clothing, they can also smell YOU!

I read some article in one of the hunt magz, (Outdoor life/FldSream*?*?)and the guy boiled down pine needles, dirt, leaves, acorns, etc. and used the water to make a spray and used the pulp to make a wash using a pillow case or sock to hold it all in together. I'll see if I can find the link

I also use a ceder bedding filled sock tied off at the end and Ialso wet it before drying, works really good but some more things I do are I use a ceder wordrobe lined in the bottem with ceder bedding and throughout the year I stir that bedding up I keep all my hunting stuff in there (I got the wordrobe at the dump)
