All I can say is Yippe. A new lease on life for an American company. I like my Model 70's ,no it's not a Tikka but it is a goodun.

JMO, but the old model 70 action is the 2nd best factory action ever made.

Now do not get me wrong... I really like the 700's that I have and the Sakos, Tikka & m70's....
But... Dakota, Kimber, HS Precision and lots of of other custom high end gun makers base their action on the Pre-64 model 70 action.....
And If cost was set aside I am sure there are alot of people who would chose actions other than the Model 700 & the Model 70 to build a custom rifle on....

Glad to see the Win Model 70 back. I still prefer the Remmys but hey to each his own. But dang not being able to get any model under a grand might not be the wisest way to make a comeback.

Not what I said, so that is not what I am saying. Opinions vary, I will leave it at that.
I like Remingtons, too. I have 6 Remington rifles.

The Herstal Group/FN is based in Belgium. They own and use the Winchester name and brand but there is no Winchester arms company in the U.S.

Glad to see Winchester being produced again but dang the sticker shock!! For that kind of money, I'd spend a little more and buy a Cooper, Sako or whatever else semi-custom tickled my fancy. I like the Winchester I have but have always felt like Remington fit me better.
By the way, Remington is no saint either with the crap they call a brazen-bolt handle. If I'm spending money on a custom, it's not to have a Remington 700 action re-worked. I'll do it right the first time and go with a Surgeon, Borden or other one-piece bolt.

I have never seen a Remington with a broken bolt handle.
