That is probably why the previous guy's handle broke off. Don't be a garage mechanic; leave it to a pro.
Yeah like it was a factory flaw.
Shame on you for saying that.

i would get a kimber 8400 or the 84m for that price. i already got a "claw 64" mod 70 ot 6 tricked out. made the 2nd year they started producing them again in the "new pre 64 design". just before they changed to the more open grip david miller stock design. that is pretty expensive. i wonder how these belgian mod 70's will affect the value of usrac/winchester mod 70's???

Tim, Don't get me wrong...I really like my Remingtons and go to a Remmy over all else for fit and function on a factory rig. However, I see Remington over the years trying to offer less and less for more money. This is not to single out Remington either. I guess my whole point is when you see a Remington Ti on 24hourcampfire going for over $1k, does one not question the variability of a factory built rifle (and what you're buying) over one that has been custom built by the likes of a reputable 'smith such as Kampfeld, Bryant, GAP, Lawton, etc. using a custom action?
I'm not trying to offend the die-hard Remington fans (or any others here). It's just hard for me to see the benefit in the current Remington rifles for the prices they are asking....Maybe I'm still stuck in the price era of my 1989 ADL with walnut stock for $325 new...Much better fit an finish than the new SPS line.

All I can say is from what I have read (and experienced) there are more people sending guns back to Kimber for problems than any other manufacture..... I had a Montana in 300WSM.... Could not even shoot 2" groups at 100 yards.... Even with reloading and trying multiple differnt loads both handload and factory.... Also had a real bad problem first go around with the bolt not wanting to close on rounds (even factory rounds)

I appreciate any well made rifle no matter what brand.
I agree very much and the contents of my safe is very good example of that.... and there are many very good actions and guns made out there that do not have Remington stamped on the side of them. I just happen to be standing up for one other than a remington and point out the benefits of it.... Just as I would do for the older Sakos, Current Tikkas, Older styers, Older FNs and Older Winchesters......
BTW... I am not trying to argue or stir anything up.... Just there are a lot of fine guns made out there..... ( and some not worth much as well) and if someone limits themselves to only one brand I just feel they maybe missing out on some nice guns.

Looks like an idiot did a modification that he didn't know how to do. That is not a Remington knob, it is an after market knob that the guy tried to install himself........ Like I said, I have never seen or heard of a Remington bolt knob breaking.

It is tough out there for the manufacturers and I`m not saying to pay more for less, but I`m gonna support Remington. I don`t have a problem with a high dollar Remington Ti either. They farmed out the actions to Smith & Wesson and are true blue and need no work if you rebarrel. The lawsuits are a big factor to the whole firearms price increases, and raw material prices through the roof.
