I just can't brag enough on this Rem.model 7, 7-08. I've got 26 inch barreld rifles that can't hold a light to this little 20 inch tack driver.I first zeroed the scope in at 85yrd.and cut 3 bullet holes on a quarter size target and was tickled pink. Then today i was wondering if i could do better. Today i moved 1 click right and up,cut 2 bullet holes on a dime and did this twice on 2 diff. targets.Next i'm going for pea sized targets but just couldn't hold it steady after those to dime shots so i never pulled the trigger. Didn't want to ruin my record! Hat's off to Remington.

I think there's something magical about short barrels (read stiff). I have an LTR that will cut holes more often than me.

Way to go! What bullet and manufacturer were you shooting?
Remington 700 Mountain DM 7mm-08, Bushnell 3200 4x12. I love the combo.

Thanks. I have been pleased with the Federal 140g with Barnes TSX, but I have read about the Hornady's SST but can't find any local.

I have a remington model 7 s/s in a 260. It's a tack driver, I let my nephew use it during the juvenile season last year, and still havent seen it. He did drop a doe in her tracks at 125 yards with it useing a remington 120gr bt.

Model70man, Could not find any Hornady's 7mm-08, but they had about 100 boxes of 416 Remingtons in Knoxville anyway.
BTW. I hear you are the man to see about some yotes? We got and we want them out. PM me if your interested in talking.

Didn't want to ruin my record Hat's off to Remington. I don't believe that I have ever heard of anyone sighting in a rifle at 85 yards. Obviously, it doesn't really matter what distance that you use, but,how did you happen to choose that distance?
