anyone used the leupold vx-1??? i am thinking about going with the 4x12x40 so does anyone have any complaints or compliments?

Yes - I have 2 and like them. It is basically what used to be their Vari-X II. There are lots of people out there that say you have to get at least a VX-II or the older Vari-X III to get good quality clear bright images through it, and will tout the Bushnell 3200 Elite over the VX-1 - or one of the lower-end Nikon scopes. I call BS - bigtime. Put a VX1 up against any of the other competitors scopes in the same price range and you'll see the difference in the Leupold. To me there is NO comparison and the Leupold wins hands-down.
