I had always used the Rem. core-loc 175gr. I never lost a deer but, was never really pleased with the distance some of them traveled after a shot.

I have shot several deer with the Noslar 154gr, drop where they were standing. Not alot of damage either.

I am loading the Noslar 165gr ballistic tip for my Rem 700 in .300 Savage with good results.
I still use the 180gr round nose in the Model 99.

Shot and Killed a cougar with the 175 core-loc 7mm slightly reduced load, great bullet
killed a bull elk with 150 ballistic-tip 7mmm one shot
at 400 yds did a great job, very very accurate dropped in his tracks (still have the bullet I will post some time)
but had bad results close range with the speed and construction
I heard Nosler strengthened there jacket though, and haven't tried them lately
Manipulation is the KEY!
Use it willfully & be aware of it from others!
