I took my 204 with me to the range to shot while my barrel would cool on my 270.
My first 5 shot group at 300 yds, using factory honady 32gr. POA was the cross hair on bullseye only one bullet hit target at the bottom of page and the other 4 were not on paper but at bottom of the edge. This group is at the first mil dot of my scope so I do not have to adjust my scope.
Second 5 shot group at 300, using factory hornady 40gr. POA is the first mil dot at bullseye. Whats funny it that the 40gr'ers POI is close to the crosshairs POA. This does not make sense to me.
Can anyone explain why?

you cant shoot different loads withthe same scope setting in anything much less a 204 at that range..
shooting here at the house to about 325 I like the 32 Sierra,,but if I had to use one load for everything the 40 V-Max is a better bullet.

Mr. B, I have tried and tried to get the Sierra's that shoot so good in yours to work in mine, but it just ain't happening. Looks like I am going to settle with the 32 grain Ballistic Tips.
Encore.....where are you hitting at 100 yards with the 32's? No way they should be falling that much even if it is zeroed.

I'm about a half inch high and I agree with you Dr. but that is what happen. Only thing I can think of is that I was getting head wind 5 mph or less but I do not think that did it.

Don't know how far the bottom of your paper is from your bullseye, but in my rifle I have it 3/4" high at 100 yards and it is about the same at 200. A 5 MPH headwind ain't gonna effect it like you have described.

My target is on a 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper. I cant go back to the range tomorrow because of Barret's testing, so I may go back Sunday afternoon and see what happens.

That means you are dropping 6" at 300 yards with a .5" high zero at 100 yards????? Factory ammo says +.6" @ 100yards means a 200 yard zero and a little over a 4" drop at 300. Pretty close I guess.
