We have a new cutover on our place and we wanna go in after deer season and make some plots in it before it gets to thick to do anything. What would you do here? Long straight strips or small 1/4 to 1/2 acre openings? I was thinking get a Bobcat and make some lanes 20yds or so wide and maybe 200yds long.

Are you going to allow the rest of it to grow up naturally?

If so, definitely think long meandering strips no more than 20 yards wide, with lots of twists and turns at intervals no longer than 80-100 yards.
