For those that shoot different types of bullets and not wanting to figure out the right OAL of cartridge your working on, do you make a dummy round to a specific OAL to that bullet or do you purchase another seating die or do you purchase a Comp die.

Comp. dies for all my needs...I realized this when I didn't go that route with my .223 dies. Why guess when it can be certain?

Dummy round, it only takes seconds to change the dies OAL. That or write all the OAL down for each combo and change die settings as needed.

I keep a notebook with all the specs of every batch I load. It is great for reference.

I write down the best shooting OALs for each bullet and make a dummy round for that depth.

I also keep a detailed logbook of my loads, in addition to the dummy rounds. The dummy rounds make for a really quick setup.
