where can you get a T3 under $500? never been a fan of the 243 for deer. just not enough lead. get a 30-06, it is the most versatile round ever designed.
You can get a T3 Lite blued for $495 at budsgunshop.

I've always shot brownings until i bought a remington this year, I think the rem. may out shoot the browning just a tad. I'd go with DA's choices and in the same order but make sure you get the trigger worked,i had mine lowered to 2.5 lbs and it's the first time ever of doing so and it makes all the difference in the world.Lot easier to stay on target with a light trigger. So all in all my thoughts are model 700 270 with the trigger worked. And i own 4 Brownings.

I can get you a new savage with the accutrigger in 270 or 7-08 for $299 in the fire sale here at the local sporting goods store. They're putting the rest of the guns back up for sale on the 15th.

if 243 too small a 270 would be great shoots flatter , faster and has less drop than a 30-06 130, 150 gr available. The 7mag has about an inch less drop at 300 yards , however you jump way up in foot lbs of kick.. I bought a cheap mossberg that walmart sells , freefloating barrel. put a nikon prostaff 450 total..
