buddy called with this question. he's gonna shoot it @ 50/100 next week sometime. he was just wondering if he was about right. i said i thought it would be close. to not touch it until he shot @ 50/100.
cva optima pro
2/50 pellets 777
240 XTP/MAG
3/4 inch high @ 25 yd
about where would that put him @ 50 yd & 100 yd?

SHOULD BE A LITTLE HIGH AT 50 AND CLOSE AT 100. I SHOOT THE SAME BULLETS AND LOVE THEM. I GAVE ALL MY OTHER BULLETS AWAY AFTER SHOOTING THE HORNADYS

I shoot that same load in my Omega and it's dead on at 100 yards,I never had a chance to shoot at 50 at the range but it did take out a deers neck last year at about 50,right where I aimed.

If you are to look on a chart, with your set up an @ "guess" would say you should be close at 100 yds.
I would suggest trying to shot it at 100 yds to verify for sure.
Keep in mind that is elevation wise, if it is not zero'd windage it won't matter.

Even tho it sounds like he is "Close", NEVER settle for close if you don't know for sure what your gun is doing at the distances you are intending to be hunting!!!
A scope will always make somewhat of a differance on the down range trajectory as compared to just shooting iron sights, due to the fact that your true line of sight (with your eye) to the target is higher because of the cross hairs in the scope being higher from the center of the bore than the iron sights. If you use "see-thru" sight like I do it will make even more differance. Tell him to shoot often and have fun!
